[2.1.0] Complete redesign of Clicky Analytics integration module on PrestaShop and thirtybees
For some time now, there has been a stir in the spheres of European analytics.
I already addressed the topic in my article about the CNIL and Google Analytics.
To meet the growing need for alternatives to Google analytics, I decided to completely rework my module dedicated to Web Analytics service offered by Clicky.
The purpose of the redesign
Simplify the integration of the service and make important data more accessible to track the SEO of its online store.
The Practice
The main functionality I wanted to implement on this module is quite simple.
Display statistical data right from the PrestaShop and thirtybees backoffice homepage.
This seems like a no-brainer for any statistics tool, as this is the primary information that every merchant wants to have available.
So I started to rework the entire code of my module to make it even simpler to use, namely, precise explanations of each configuration item in the module and a clear organization of options for all users.
Because you should never forget that each user of a module developed for a CMS like PrestaShop or thirtybees is primarily intended for novice users or professionals who don't want to waste time figuring out how to implement the module at a customer's site.
Then, I set up the customization of the statistics elements that the user wants to have on the homepage of his backoffice, just to really meet his need without overloading this page.
I also added the buttons to allow refreshing the stats directly without reloading the entire page and also a direct link to the full stats page on Clicky without needing to log in each time, just to save even more time.
Result
I hope that all these improvements will bring a significant gain in statistics analysis to users and especially feel free to let me know in the comments or through the direct support button present in the module.
I decided to go through this service to replace Google Analytics on my PrestaToolbox shop due to the simple and convenient usage with really usable data so that I don't have to waste my time understanding the tool anymore but its data.
